Haploops is een geslacht van vlokreeften uit de familie van de Ampeliscidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1856 door Wilhelm Liljeborg. Hij beschreef als eerste soort Haploops tubicola.
Haploops komt voor in diep, koud zeewater in de Noordelijke IJszee, de noordelijke Atlantische Oceaan en de noordelijke Stille Oceaan, met uitzondering van twee soorten (H. descansa en H. oonah) die in gematigder water rond Tasmanië voorkomen, en H. antarctica die in de Bellingshausenzee bij het Antarctisch Schiereiland werd ontdekt.[1]
