Kill Tony
Kill Tony is een Amerikaanse live podcast en stand-upcomedy-varietyshow, gecreëerd en gepresenteerd door Tony Hinchcliffe en geproduceerd en gecohost door Brian Redban.[1][2]
Format
In elke aflevering halen Hinchcliffe en Redban, meestal bijgestaan door een of meerdere beroemde gastcomedians, namen uit een emmer met aspirant-comedians. Deze krijgen precies één minuut om stand-up te doen, gevolgd door een interview en feedback van het panel.[3]
Geschiedenis
De show ging in première op 3 juni 2013 en wordt sindsdien wekelijks op maandag uitgebracht. Oorspronkelijk werd ze opgenomen in The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Sinds 2022/2023 is de thuisbasis de Comedy Mothership in Austin, Texas.[4]
In 2024 speelde de show uitverkochte shows in onder meer Madison Square Garden en trad ze op tijdens Netflix Is a Joke Fest.[5]
Populariteit
Kill Tony trekt miljoenen luisteraars per aflevering en behoort tot de populairste comedy-podcasts wereldwijd.[6]
