De Polytminae zijn een van de vijf onderfamilies die onderdeel zijn van de kolibriefamilie Trochilidae. Deze onderfamilie is onderverdeeld in 12 geslachten:[1]
- Geslacht Androdon (1 soort: tandsnavelkolibrie)
- Geslacht Anthracothorax (7 soorten mango's)
- Geslacht Augastes (2 soorten buikvizierkolibries)
- Geslacht Avocettula (1 soort: vuurstaartkluutkolibrie)
- Geslacht Chrysolampis (1 soort: muskietkolibrie)
- Geslacht Colibri (5 soorten violetoorkolibries)
- Geslacht Doryfera (2 soorten voorhoofdlancetkolibries)
- Geslacht Eulampis (2 soorten: groenkeelkolibrie en granaatkolibrie)
- Geslacht Heliactin (1 soort: zonnestraalkolibrie)
- Geslacht Heliothryx (2 soorten feeënkolibries)
- Geslacht Polytmus (3 soorten goudkeelkolibries)
- Geslacht Schistes (2 soorten wigsnavels)
