Realengo

Realengo is een wijk in het westelijk gedeelte van Rio de Janeiro (stad). De wijk wordt gerekend tot de middenklasse. De wijk grenst aan onder andere de wijken Bangu en Padre Miguel. Realengo wordt doorsneden door de Avenida Brasil.

Tijdens de militaire dictatuur was Gilberto Gil in de militaire gevangenis gedetineerd als politieke gevangene. Zijn lied Aquele abraço verwijst hiernaar.
Meer recent kwam Realengo in het nieuws door de schietpartij in 2011 op de Escola Municipal Tasso da Silveira waarbij 12 doden vielen.
Het Albert Schweitzer ziekenhuis ligt in Realengo.
