Ruiru is een stad in het district Thika van de Keniaanse provincie Kati (Central). Ruiru ligt hemelsbreed op 22 kilometer van het centrum van Nairobi en is onderdeel van de agglomeratie Groot-Nairobi.
Bij de volkstelling van 2019 had de stad 490.120 inwoners. Het is daarmee de vierde stad van Kenia.[1]
Ruiru wordt omgeven door talrijke koffieplantages.
