Karl Johan Schuster (geboren 1 februari 1985), professioneel bekend als Shellback, is een Zweedse muziekproducent, songwriter en muzikant.[2] Hij is een van de meest succesvolle producers van de 21e eeuw[bron?] en werkte samen met artiesten als Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Maroon 5, P!nk, Adele en vele anderen.[3]
Shellback begon zijn carrière in de metalband Blinded Colony als gitarist en drummer, voordat hij overstapte naar popproductie.[2] Hij werkte vaak samen met Max Martin en werd in 2012 door Billboard uitgeroepen tot Producer of the Year.[4]
Carrière
Shellback brak door met hits als "Moves Like Jagger" (Maroon 5), "Shake It Off" en "Blank Space" (Taylor Swift).[2] Hij is bekend om zijn energieke, percussieve productiestijl met invloeden uit rock en metal.[5]
Hij heeft meerdere Grammy Awards gewonnen en was betrokken bij talloze nummer 1-hits wereldwijd.[3]
