Simple Things is een nummer van de Franse muzikant dbClifford uit 2008. Het is de eerste single van zijn debuutalbum Recyclable.

Achtergrondinformatie

"Simple Things" gaat over de kleine dingen die het leven dragelijk maken. dbClifford zei over het nummer: "Er zijn sterke dingen, lichte dingen, naïeve dingen. Maar ook een vleugje humor, zoals in de titel 'Simple Things', die je met een korreltje zout moet nemen". De tekst voor het nummer is lichtelijk geïnspireerd op het nummer "My Favorite Things" uit The Sound of Music. Clifford heeft het nummer als uitgangspunt gebruikt voor de rest van het album Recyclable.[3]

Het nummer werd een kleine radiohit in Frankrijk, maar bereikte daar de hitlijsten niet. Wel werd het een nummer 1-hit in Japan, volgens dbClifford vóór artiesten als Amy Winehouse en James Blunt.[4] In Nederland werd het ook een radiohitje en bereikte het de 11e positie in de Tipparade.
