Stuff Smith
Stuff Smith, geboren als Hezekiah Leroy Gordon Smith (Portsmouth (Ohio), 14 augustus 1909 – München, 25 september 1967), was een Amerikaans jazzviolist.
Smith werkte vanaf zijn dertiende als violist in een restaurant, waar hij merkte dat jazz meer aansloeg dan klassieke composities. Hij leerde op een eigen wijze spelen waarbij hij zich verdiepte in de swing. Smith maakte opnamen met onder anderen Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie en Fats Waller.
