The Fighting Trail is een Amerikaanse vijftiendelige stomme serial film uit 1917 onder regie van William Duncan, met in de hoofdrollen William Duncan en Carol Holloway.[1] Destijds werd de serial film in Nederland uitgebracht onder de titel Naar de overwinning.[2] De serial film is wellicht zoekgeraakt.[3]
Verhaal
Een waardevol mineraal, dat slechts in één Californische mijn wordt gevonden, is noodzakelijk voor de productie van een nieuw explosief dat een belangrijke rol zou kunnen spelen in het beslechten van de Eerste Wereldoorlog. De locatie van de mijn staat beschreven in documenten die in het bezit zijn van Nan, de vriendin van mijnbouwkundig ingenieur John Gwynn. De centrale mogendheden proberen de documenten in handen te krijgen en deinzen nergens voor terug. Nan wordt herhaaldelijk gevangengenomen door de handlangers van de Duitse spion Von Bleck en moet keer op keer gered worden door John.
