Toponimia
Nazwa pochodzenia słowiańskiego, zapisana po raz pierwszy w formie Boskowitz (1283), Buskeuitze (1314), Boskevicze (1318), pochodzi od rugijskiego imienia *Božьkъ z sufiksem dzierżawczym -ici i oznacza tyle co „gród Bożka”[2].
