Halicyclops – rodzaj widłonogów z rodziny Halicyclopidae[1].

Systematyka

Rodzaj ten utworzył w 1893 roku niemiecki zoolog Carl Claus pod nazwą Hemicyclops, wyznaczając na jego gatunek typowy Cyclops aequoreus[2][3]. Okazało się jednak, że nazwa ta jest już zajęta przez inny rodzaj widłonogów – Hemicyclops wprowadzony przez Boecka w 1873 roku[2][4]. W 1903 roku angielski zoolog Alfred Merle Norman zmienił zatem nazwę rodzaju na Halicyclops[2].
