Pycnodontiformes – rząd wymarłych ryb kostnoszkieletowych. Pierwsze Pycnodontiformes pojawiły się w późnym triasie, na początku mezozoiku, podczas gdy ostatnie (przedstawiciele Pycnodontidae i Serrasalmimidae) przetrwały wymieranie kredowe i dotrwały do eocenu, we wczesnym kenozoiku[1].
Pozycja filogenetyczna Pycnodontiformes jest niejasna. Często sugerowano, że są one grupą siostrzaną do kladu Teleostei, jednak prawdopodobne, że należą do bazalnych nowopłetwych[2]. Większość przedstawicieli Pycnodontiformes osiągała niewielkie rozmiary, nieprzekraczające 0,5 m długości[3].
