Same Difference – piąty album studyjny szwedzkiego zespołu deathmetalowego Entombed. Wydawnictwo ukazało się 16 listopada 1998 roku nakładem wytwórni płytowej Music for Nations[3]. Był to pierwszy materiał zespołu nagrany z nowym perkusistą Peterem Stränjvindem, który zastąpił założyciela Nickego Anderssona[4].

Nagrania zostały zarejestrowane w sierpniu 1998 roku w Polar Studios w Sztokholmie we współpracy z Danielem Reyem. Album zmiksowali Jon Marshall Smith i Daniel Rey we wrześniu tego samego roku Baby Monster Studios w Nowym Jorku. Mastering odbył się w Masterdisk i został wykonany przez Howiego Weinberga. Do utworów "Addiction King" i "What You Need" zostały zrealizowane teledyski[5].

Album Same Difference znacząco różni się od pozostałych wydawnictw w dyskografii Entombed. Muzyka na nim zawarta odchodziła od tradycyjnego brzmienia zespołu, mocno osadzonym w death metalu, a zamiast tego zespół zwrócił się w stronę metalu alternatywnego[1]. Płyta jednak nie odniosła wielkiego sukcesu.

Według danych z kwietnia 2002 album sprzedał się w nakładzie 6,808 egzemplarzy na terenie Stanów Zjednoczonych[6].

Odbiór

Album Same Difference został różnie odebrany przez fanów i krytyków. Wielu było dość krytycznych wobec wolty stylistycznej zespołu i uznało tą płytę za najgorszą z całej dyskografii[1]. Lars-Göran Petrov, były wokalista Entombed uznał Same Difference za najsłabsze nagranie Entombed[8]. Natomiast niektórzy krytycy ocenili album pozytywnie. Użytkownik alkostach ze strony Sputnikmusic stwierdził, że Płyta "Same Difference ugruntowała pozycję Entombed jako królów groove’u i stanowiła zapewne niezbędną lekcję przed przejściem do czterech kolejnych klasyków death 'n' rolla."[2]
