Historia
Wraz z utworzeniem nowego systemu administracyjnego 1 kwietnia 1889 roku w powiecie Minamishitara powstała miejscowość Shinshiro[1]. Status miasta Shinshiro zdobyło 1 listopada 1958 roku[2].
