Aphelidesmidae (лат.) — семейство двупарноногих многоножек (Diplopoda) из отряда Polydesmida. Около 120 видов. Встречаются в Центральной и Южной Америке[2][3].

Описание

Длина тела 40—75 мм, окраска преимущественно тёмная с ярким рисунком, покров в основном гладкий и блестящий. Озопоры кратерообразные, открываются латерально на отчётливых «мозолях» всегда хорошо развитых паратерг. Голени без длинной, тактильной, апикодорсальной щетинки. Гоноподы с медиальными стернальными остатками между коксами; телоподит от очень простого до довольно сложного, одно-, дву- или трёхветвистый[2].

Распространение

Встречаются в Центральной и Южной Америке от Мексики до Бразилии и Перу[2][4].

Систематика

Около 20 родов и около 120 видов[2]. Одно из семейств отряда двупарноногих многоножек Polydesmida, включено вместе с Platyrhacidae в надсемейство Platyrhacoidea Cook, 1895 из подотряда Leptodesmidea Brölemann, 1916[3][5][6].
