Международное научное название
Armases Abele, 1992

Armases (лат.) — род морских, солоноватоводных и наземных крабов семейства Sesarmidae[1]. Обитают в приливной зоне, эстуариях, мангровых зарослях и пресноводных водоемах. Могут встречаются на высоте до 330 м. Их ареал включает умеренный Северный Атлантический океан, тропический Атлантический океан и тропическую восточную часть Тихого океана[2]. Название рода является анаграммой слова Sesarma[3].

Внешний вид

Ширина карапакса превышает длину, его дорсальная поверхность плоская. Эпибранхиальный зуб слабо развит. Лоб имеет неглубокую выемку[2]. Наружный угол глазницы острый, а передний боковой край гладкий. Верхняя поверхность проподуса клешней у самцов зернистая[3].
