Harmothoe (лат.) — род морских многощетинковых червей (Polychaeta) семейства Polynoidae. Встречаются по всему миру на глубине не менее 5000 м, но чаще на мелководье[1].

Описание

Тело дорсовентрально уплощенное, короткое, с 15 парами элитр и до 50 сегментами; тело более или менее покрыто элитрами, хотя у длинных особей может быть открыта короткая задняя часть. Простомиум закруглен спереди и имеет отчетливые головные пики на дорсальной поверхности. Имеется пары антенн, пара боковых антенн вставлена вентрально, непосредственно под срединным цератофором антенны. Невроподии удлиненные и сужающиеся. Нотохеты толстые с поперечными рядами шипов и тупыми кончиками. Нейрохеты также имеют поперечные ряды шипов, присутствуют как незубчатые, так и двузубые нейрохеты[2].

Биология

Один из многих родов семейства Polynoidae, включающий биолюминесцентные виды[3].
