PC-UX — это снятая с разработки версия операционной системы System III[1], разработанная компанией NEC для своих персональных компьютеров APC III[англ.][2] и PC-9801.

Описание

На момент выпуска PC-UX обладала обширными графическими возможностями. PC-UX и MS-DOS могли сосуществовать на одном жёстком диске, при этом PC-UX содержала утилиты, позволявшие переносить файлы в MS-DOS. В 1985 году рекомендованная розничная цена PC-UX на APC III составляла 700 долларов.

Последующая портированная версия UNIX System V от NEC получила название PC-UX/V.
