Streptocranus (лат.) — род жуков-короедов из трибы Xyleborini (Scolytinae, Curculionidae)[1].
Распространение
Встречаются в тропических регионах Юго-Восточной Азии и Океании[2][3][4].
Описание
Мелкие жуки-короеды, величина которых колеблется в пределах нескольких миллиметров (от 1,9 мм до 4,9 мм). Streptocranus отличается уникальным субквадратным и суженным с боков пронотумом (тип a при боковом рассмотрении; тип c при дорсальном рассмотрении) с плоским и длинным диском переднеспинки; раздвоенной вершиной надкрылий и орнаментом с парой дистальных отростков; тонкими передними голенями серповидной формы; отсутствием микангиальных пучков; плоским щитком, расположенным на одном уровне с надкрыльями; и примыкающими друг к другу передними тазиками. Системы галерей у Streptocranus, по-видимому, довольно изменчивы, с несколькими ветвями, которые могут идти горизонтально или продольно и могут быть неравномерно расширены, но без четко выраженных расплодных камер[2].
Классификация
Род впервые был выделен в 1939 году на основании типового вида Streptocranus mirabilis Schedl, 1939[5][6]. Включён в состав трибы Xyleborini (Scolytinae, Curculionidae). Внешне Eccoptopterus отличается от всех других родов своим внешним видом, но по некоторым признакам имеет сходство с Debus[2][7][8][9].
