Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Android 2.3 doli në treg në dhjetor 2010, së bashku me një model të ri celulari Google—Nexus S. Gingerbread solli disa llidhje të reja për Android, si p.sh. një lidhje më të qendrueshme ndërmjet menusë dhe dialogeve, por përsëri dukej si version i Android të cilin jemi mësuar më parë me shtesën e vetme të disa gjuhëve të reja. Tashmë Gingerbread suporton një teknologji më të avancuar si NFC (Near Field Communication) dhe SIP (biseda telafonike në internet). Gjithashtu dhe optimizimi i baterisë ishte një arritje e pranueshme.
