Balto (1919 - 1933) ishte një qen i racës Haski Siberian po ashtu ishte edhe qen slite i cili udhëhoqi ekipin e qenve të cilët në viti 1925 për shkak të kushteve të këqija ishte bëre e pamundur transportimi i ilaçeve Anchorage në Alaska e deri Nenana në Alaskë.Gjysma e rrugës ishte bëre me tren derisa për shkak të kushteve të këqija dhe motit të acartë detyra per ti dërguar ilaçet apo me konkretisht (Antitoksimet) në Nenana. ket detyr e mori për siper slita e qenëve me udhëheqsi qeni-t Balto i cili ishte qeni eksploruesit amerikan Samuel Balto. Balto i cili udhëhoqi slitën e qenve pasi që drjtuesi i saj ishte plagusor nga aksident i rend dhe Balto arriti ti sillte ilaqet antitoksin në Nenana me 2 shkurt 1925 dhe arriti të shpëtonte mijra njerz dhe fëmijet e sëmur nga epidemia e rënd qe kishte rën në qytetin Nenana në Alaskë. Dhe Balto jetoi në deri në moshën 14 vjeqare në vitin 1933.

  • Balto edhe pse ishte një qen, u nderua me mirënjohje si "Hero i Qytetit" nga Guvenatori i Alaskës, pasi shpëtoi fëmijët e sëmurë nga epidemia dhe jetën e një piloti nga Amerika.
