FireWire

FireWire është emri i përdorur nga Apple Inc, i.Link nga Sony Corporation, për IEEE-1394. Ky është një standard paradhënieje serial bus-i (ang. serial bus interface standard) kompjuteri (dhe audio digjital/video digjital) që ofron komunikime shumë të shpejta dhe shërbime real-time isochronous të informacioneve.

Data transfer këtu është shumë e shpejtë dhe arrin deri 400 Mbit/s pra 50 MByte pro sekondë. Një transferim i datave (transferrate) kaq i madh përdoret tek transportimi i Datave të mëdha si Video apo Grafika të ndryshme. Kjo realizohet duke blerë një FireWire kartelë dhe instaluar në PC pra në një PCI-slot, sikurse një Grafik kartelë montoni.

FireWire-kartela nuk përdoren vetëm për Video-Datat por në ditët e sotme kemi edhe HardDisk – FireWire që mundeni të lidhni në FireWire-katrela.
