Hama (Arabisht: حماة‎‎) është qytet në Siri me 900,000 banorë sipas vitit 2010. Ndodhet 224 kilometra në veri të Damaskut dhe 46 kilometra në veri të Homsit. Hama është qyteti i katërt më i madh në Siri pas Aleppos, Damaskut dhe Homsit.[1][2] Qyteti ishte vendi i konfliktit mes ushtrisë siriane dhe ushtrisë së opozitës si një nga vendi kryesor i luftës civile siriane gjatë vitit 2011.

Demografia

Sipas Josiah C. Russel, gjatë shekullit 12-të, Hama ka pasur 6,750 banorë.[3] Kur qyteti ishte nën mandatin francezë, ka pasur 50,000 banorë. Sipas regjistrimit të popullsisë më 1960, qyteti ka pasur 110,000 banorë. Popullsia vazhdoi të rritej deri në 180,000 më 1978 dhe 273,000 më 1994.[4] Sipas regjistrimit të popullsisë më 2005, qyteti ka pasur rreth 325,000 banorë.
