Horizonti Vija rrethore më e tejme në hapësirë deri ku arrin vështrimi ynë, vija ku duket sikur puqet qielli me tokën ose me sipërfaqen e ujërave; pjesa e qiellit që duket mbi këtë vijë. Vija e horizontit. Deri në horizont. Atje tej në horizont. Del në horizont. Nuk dukej asnjë.

Largësia nga horizonti
Largësia e paraqitur me d (nga fjala angleze "distance") nga horizonti i vërtetë me tokën është afërsisht
ku h (nga fjala angleze "height") është lartësia në metra e syve të vëzhguesit.
Shembull:
- Një njeri me lartësi 1.70 m e ka horizontin 4.7 km larg.
- Nëse qëndrojmë në një kodër ose kullë 100m të lartë, horizonti është larg nesh 36 km.
