Instituti

Instituti (latinisht: institutum "objekt" ose "zakon", nga instituere që do të thotë "ndërtoj", "krijoj", "ngris" ose "edukoj") është një lloj enti organizativ i krijuar për një qëllim të caktuar. Institutet shpesh janë organizata hulumtuese ( institucione kërkimore ) të krijuara për të bërë kërkime mbi tema specifike. Një institut mund të jetë gjithashtu një organizim profesional ose në kuadër të arsimit të të rriturve.[1]

Në disa vende, institutet mund të jenë pjesë e një universiteti ose institucioni tjetër të arsimit të lartë, qoftë si një grup departamentesh ose si një institucion arsimor autonom pa një status tradicional universitar.

Në disa vende, si p.sh. Koreja e Jugut dhe Japonia, shkollat private nganjëherë njihen si institute, dhe jo shkolla. Në Spanjë, zakonisht shkollat e mesme quhen institute.
