JSON (është shkurtimi për JavaScript Object Notation), është një format me standard të hapur që përdor tekst të lexueshëm-nga-njeriu për të transferuar objekte të të dhënave të përbëra nga çifte atribut-vlerë. Është formati primar i të dhënave që përdoret në komunikimin asinkron shfletues/server (AJAJ), kryesisht duke zëvendësuar XML (i përdorur nga AJAX).
