Modaliteti zero

Në fizikë, një modalitet zero është një vektor vetjak me një vlerë vetjake që zbehet.[1]

Në nënfusha të ndryshme të fizikës, modalitetet zero shfaqen sa herë që një sistem fizik zotëron një simetri të caktuar. Për shembull, mënyrën normale të lëkundësit harmonik shumëdimensional (p.sh. një sistem rruazash të rregulluara rreth rrethit, të lidhura me susta) përkojnë me mënyrat elementare dridhëse të sistemit. Në një sistem të tillë zakonisht ndodhin modalitete zero dhe lidhen me një rrotullim të ngurtë rreth rrethit.

Bërthama e një operatori përbëhet nga modalitetet zero të majtë, dhe kokerneli përbëhet nga mënyrat zero të djathta.
