Pylli Sherud
Pylli Sherud është një pyll mbretëror në Nottinghamshire, Angli dhe është i famshëm pë lidhjen e tij historike me legjendën e Robin Hudit. Ka qënë i pyllëzuar që në fundin e periudhës së akullnajave[1], Sherudi tashmë është reduktuar në vetëm 423 hektarë [2] vazhdon të rrethojë fshatin Edwinstowe (Eduinstou) si dhe pallatin Thoresby Hall. Pjesa e sotme e pyllëzuar është një mbetje e asaj që ka qenë më parë, njohur me emrin "shire wood" i Nottinghamshire-it,[3] i cili në të vërtetë mbulonte disa qarqe fqinjë (shire), në perëndim kufizohej nga lumi Erewash dhe pylli East Derbyshire.
Pylli Sherud tërheq rreth 500,000 turistë nga gjithë bota çdo vit. Numri i vizitorëve u rrit ndjeshëm pas transmetimit të serive të Robin Hudit nga BBC në 2006.
Ky park gjithashtu mikpret edhe festivalin e Robin Hudit për një javë me rradhë çdo verë, duke krijuar një atmosferë mesjetare.
Lisi i Madh
Pylli Sherud është shtëpia e Lisit të Madh, i cili sipas legjendës ka qenë vendstrehimi i Robin Hudit. Lisi i përket periudhës Viktoriane me një moshë rreth 800-1000 vjeçare. Degët e tij mbrohen me anë të një sistemi që të mos thyhen.
Lisi i Madh u cilësua në 2005 nga programi i BBC-së si Seven Natural Wonders (Shtatë Mrekulli Natyrore) si një mrekulli natyrore e Anglisë qëndrore.
