Rus

Rus fjalë me të cilën në literatur e vjetër përshkruhej Mbretëria me prejardhje të panjohur e Kievit si dhe një fisi që i takonte kësaj mbretërie.

Sipas shkenctarëve rusë në fillim përdorej vetëm për hapësiren e polanëve përreth Kievit, d.m.th bërthama e Mbretërisë së Kievit. Në burime të vjetra edhe varegët (gjer.: Wareager) thirreshin rus (apo Rhos)[1]; nga këtu vije konkludimi që këtë emërtim e kanë marrur edhe nomadët dhe më vonë është marrë edhe nga sllavët.
