Satrap
Satrapët ishin guvernatorë të krahinave të lashtë të perandorive Mediane dhe Akamenide (Persiane) dhe të disa prej pasardhësve të tyre, të tilla si Perandoria Sasaniane dhe perandorive Helene.
Fjala satrap gjithashtu është përdorur shpesh në mënyrë metaforike në letërsinë moderne për t'iu referuar udhëheqësve botërorë apo guvernatorëve, të cilët janë të ndikuar shumë nga superfuqitë më të madh botërore ose hegjemonistët dhe të veprojë si zëvendës të tyre.[1]
