Varri

Varri është një vend ku vendoset ose është varrosur një trup i vdekur (zakonisht ai është një njeri, megjithëse nganjëherë ai mund të jetë edhe një kafshe). Varret zakonisht ndodhen në zona të veçanta të caktuara për qëllime të varrosjes, të tilla si varre ose varreza .[1]

Disa detaje të një varri, siç është gjendja e trupit të gjetur brenda tij dhe çfarëdo sendi që gjendet afër apo bashkë me trupin e kufomës, mund të japin informacion për arkeologët se si trupi mund të ketë jetuar para vdekjes së tij, përfshirë periudhën kohore në të cilën ka jetuar dhe kulturën pjesë e së cilës ka qenë.

Në disa religjione, besohet se trupi duhet të digjet në mënyrë që shpirti të mbijetojë; në të tjerat, dekompozimi i plotë i trupit konsiderohet i rëndësishëm për pjesën tjetër të shpirtit.
