Beta lanac

Primer fragmenta antiparalne β ravni koja se sastoji od četiri beta lanca. a) Antiparalelne vodonične veze (tačkaste linije) između peptidnih NH i CO grupa na susednim lancima. Strelice pokazuju smer lanaca. Konture elektronske gustine okružuju nevodonične atome. Atomi kiseonika su obojeni crveno, a N atomi plavo. Bočni lanci su prikazani samo do prvog C atoma (zeleno). b) Bočni pogled na dva centralna β lanca.

Beta lanac je strukturna jedinica proteinske beta ravni. On je izduženi segment polipeptidnog lanca tipično 3 do 10 aminokiselina dug, koji formira vodonične veze sa drugim beta lancima u istoj beta ravni.[1][2]
