Pooideae su najveća potporodica porodice trava (Poaceae), sa oko 4.000 vrsta u 15 plemena i otprilike 200 rodova. One obuhvataju neke od glavnih žitarica, kao što su pšenica, ječam, ovas, raž i mnoge travnjačke i pašnjačke trave. Često se nazivaju travama hladne sezone, jer su rasprostranjene u umerenoj klimi.[1] Sve one koriste fotosintetski put C3.
Pooideae su sestrinska grupa bambusa unutar BOP klade, i podeljeni su na 15 plemena.[1]
