Лигње са репом (ред Sepiolida) раније су биле уврштене у овај ред као подред Sepiolina (сестрински подред Sepiina), али се данас сматрају засебним редом;[1] њихов тачан однос са сипама је тренутно нејасан, али нису откривене блиске везе са Sepiida у скорашњим филогенетским анализама.
