Ang Bitstream Charter ay isang serif na pamilya ng tipo ng titik na dinsenyo ni Matthew Carter noong 1987 para sa Bitstream Inc.[2] Nakabatay ang Charter sa mga karakter ni Pierre-Simon Fournier, na nagsimula noong ika-18 siglo.[3] Inuri ito ng Bitstream bilang isang transisyunal na serif na pamilya ng tipo ng titik (Bitstream Transitional 801), mayroon din itong kinatatampukan na slab-serif na pamilya ng tipo ng titik at kadalasan na inuuri ng ganito;[4][5]
