Ang Colombia, opisyal na Republika ng Colombia, ay isang bansa sa hilaga-kanluran ng Timog Amerika na may rehiyong insular sa Hilagang Amerika—malapit sa baybaying Karibe ng Nicaragua—pati na rin sa Karagatang Pasipiko. Napapaligiran ito ng Dagat Karibe sa hilaga at hilagang-kanluran, Venezuela at Brazil sa silangan, Ecuador at Peru sa timog, at Panama at Karagatang Pasipiko sa kanluran. Nahahati ang Colombia sa 32 departamento at ang Distritong Kapital ng Bogotá, ang pinakamalaking lungsod sa bansa.
Etimolohiya
Ang pangalang "Colombia" ay hinango sa apelyido ni Christopher Columbus (Italyano: Cristoforo Colombo, Espanyol: Cristóbal Colón). Naisip ito ng rebolusyonaryong Venezuelano na si Francisco de Miranda bilang pagtukoy sa kabuuan ng Bagong Daigdig, lalo na sa mga pumailalim sa pamumuno ng mga Kastila at Portuges.[1]
