Si Jane Austen (16 Disyembre 1775 - 18 Hulyo 1817[3]) ay isang may-akdang Inglesa. Nagsimula siyang magsulat noong 14 na taong gulang pa lamang. Mga magulang niya sina Reberendo George Austen at Cassandra Austen.

Talambuhay

Ipinanganak si Austen sa Steventon ng Hilagang Hampshire, Inglatera. Tumanggap siya ng edukasyon mula sa kanyang ama, na isang rektor sa Steventon at dating kasaping-kapatid ng Dalubhasaan ng San Juan, Oxford. Nilisan niya ang Steventon noong 1801. Pagkaraan, pangunahing namuhay siya sa kabayanan at kanayunan, partikular na sa nayon ng Chawton, malapit sa Winchester, Inglatera. Namatay siyang walang asawa habang nasa Winchester, sa edad na 41.
