Pendulo

Ang pendulo ay isang kasangkapang binubuo ng isang tagdang may nakabitin pabigat.[1] Palagi itong umuugoy sa magkaparehong panahon. Natuklasan ni Galileo ang pendulo noong mga 1583 noong habang pinagmamasdan niya ang isang lamparang umuugoy sa loob ng katedral ng Pisa. Napag-isipan niyang kapag nakakabit ang isang orasan sa isang pendulo, maaaring gawin ang mga itong gumalaw ng bahagya sa bawat pag-ugoy ng pendulo, at sa tamang haba gagalaw ang mga "kamay" ng orasan sa tamang pagkakataon upang makapagsukat ng oras.[2]
