Perlas

Mga puting perlas na may iba't ibang laki.

Ang perlas[1] ay isang uri ng hiyas na naaani mula sa ilang uri ng mga talaba, partikular na mula sa binga[1], ang makintab na panloob na bahagi ng kabibe. Nakukuha ang mga ito sa loob ng kabibe ng mga talabang naturan. Kalimitan itong hugis bilog at putian bagaman may nakukuha ding itiman o abuhin at ibang hugis bukod sa pagkabilog. Ginagamit ito sa paggawa ng mga alahas. May mga likas na perlas at mayroong mga sinadya o kinultura sa mga anihang pinangangasiwaan ng tao.

Tinuturing na mga anaki'y perlas[1] ang mga bagay na mukhang perlas, katulad ng mga malulusog at mapuputing mga ngipin.
