Ang Talmud (Ebreo: תלמוד) ay isang rekord ng mga talakayang rabiniko ukol sa Halakha, etika, mga kostumbre, alamat, at kuwento.
Estruktura
Mishna
Ang Mishna (Ebreo: משנה) ang Batas Oral na Hudiyo ayon sa pagkarekord ni Rabino Yehuda haNasi noong mga 200 CE.
Gemara
Ang Gemara (Ebreo: גמרא) ang lipon ng mga komentaryong rabiniko ng mga akademya ng Palestina at Babilonya ukol sa Mishna mula sa pagkasulat nito hanggang noong mga 500 CE.
Ang dalawang talmud
Iisa lang ang Mishna ngunit dalawa ang Gemara: ang Gemara ng Jerusalem at ang Gemara ng Babilonya. Sa kasalukuyang panahon, tumutukoy ang mag-isang salitang “talmud” sa Talmud ng Babilonya.
