Pera là một chi thực vật có hoa trong họ Peraceae,[2] lần đầu tiên được mô tả năm 1784.[3][4] Nó là chi bản địa nhiệt đới châu Mỹ, từ miền nam Mexico và Tây Ấn kéo dài về phía nam tới Paraguay.[1][5]
