Android ye un sistema operativo mobil basau en una versión modificada d'o kernel de Linux y unatro software de codigo ubierto, disenyau prencipalment pa dispositivos mobils con pantalla tactil como telefonos intelichents y tabletas. Android ye desarrollau por un consorcio de desembolicadors conoixiu como que Open Handset Alliance y patrocinau comercialment por Google. Estió presentau en 2007, con o primer dispositivo comercial d'Android lanzau en setiembre de 2008.

Android ha estau o sistema operativo mas vendiu en toz en telefonos intelichents dende 2011 y en tabletas dende 2013. A partir de mayo de 2017, tiene mas de dos mil millons d'usuarios activos mensuals, a base instalada mas gran de cualsiquier sistema operativo y, a partir de marzo de 2020, Google Play Store presenta mas de 2.9 millons d'aplicacions. A versión estable actual ye Android 10, lanzada o 3 de setiembre de 2019.
