2 Centauri (2 Cen / g Centauri / HD 120323)[6] ye una estrella variable na constelación de Centaurus. Alcuéntrase a 183 años lluz del Sistema Solar.

2 Centauri ye una xigante colorada de tipu espectral M4.5III con una temperatura efectivo d'aproximao 3400 K y una lluminosidá 625 vegaes mayor que la lluminosidá solar. Estos parámetros dexen evaluar el so radiu, 72 vegaes más grande que'l del Sol, equivalente a 0,34 UA. Sicasí, el radiu calculáu a partir del so diámetru angular ye 89 vegaes mayor que'l radiu solar, cifra considerablemente mayor. La so masa envalórase ente 1 y 1,25 mases solares. Tocantes al so estáu evolutivu, piénsase que 2 Centauri remató la fusión nuclear del heliu y ta amontando de nuevu'l so rellumu.[7]

2 Centauri ye una variable semirregular de tipu SRb; esta clase de variables tienen periodu pocu definíos, pero puede asignáse-yos un periodu mediu. D'esta manera, nel casu de 2 Centauri el so rellumu fluctúa ente magnitú aparente +4,16 y +4,26 a lo llargo d'un periodu mediu de 12 díes. Recibe la denominación, tocantes a estrella variable, de V806 Centauri.[8]
