El bibcode ye un identificador usáu por numberoses bases de datos astronómiques pa citar referencies bibliográfiques. El bibcode desendolcóse pa usase nel SIMBAD y la Base de datos d'oxetos estragaláuticos NASA/IPAC (NED), pero úsase más ampliamente nel Sistema de Datos Astrofísicos, tamién de la NASA.[1][2]

El códigu tien una llonxitú fixa de 19 caráuteres y tien la forma:

YYYYJJJJJVVVVMPPPPA

au YYYY son los cuatro díxitos del añu d'espublización de la referencia, JJJJJ ye un códigu qu'indica la espublización de procedencia de la referencia, VVVV el númbero de volume, M la seición de la espublización, por exemplu L indica la seición de cartes, PPPP indica la páxina d'entamu de la referencia y A ye la primer lletra del apellíu del primer autor. Úsense puntos pa enllenar los campos nos usaos o pa completar campos au la llonxitú del códigu emplegáu seya más curtiu que los espacios reservaos a elli. L'alliniación faise a la derecha pal códigu d'espublización y a manzorga pal númberu de volume y de páxina.[1][2]
