CV Velorum (CV Vel / HD 77464 / HIP 44245)[6] ye una estrella variable na constelación de Vela que la so magnitú aparente varia ente +6,69 y +7,19.[7] Alcuéntrase a una distancia averada de 1860 años lluz del Sistema Solar.

CV Velorum ye una estrella binaria espectroscópica masiva con un periodu de 6,889 díes; la so duplicidá afayóse por van Houten en 1950, siendo Gaposhkin quien en 1955 envaloró per vegada primera los parámetros físicos del sistema.[8] Coles mesmes, CV Velorum ye una binaria eclipsante, similar a Algol (β Persei) o λ Tauri. CV Velorum exhibe dos eclises bien definíos, con cayíes de rellumu de 0,50 y 0,48 magnitúes,[9] lo que suxer que dambes componentes han de ser bastante similares.

Ello ye que dambes estrelles tienen tipu espectral B2.5V, anque esisten pequeñes diferencies ente elles. Estrelles calientes, la temperatura efectivo de dambes apenes difier en 200 K (17.988 y 17.782 K). La estrella más masiva, con una lluminosidá 1585 vegaes mayor que la del Sol, tien una masa de 6,07 mases solares, ente que'l so acompañante, 1330 vegaes más lluminosa que'l Sol, tien una masa de 5,97 mases solares. El semiexe mayor de la órbita ye de 0,16 UA.[10]
