Delta Centauri (δ Cen / HD 105435 / HR 4621) ye una estrella na constelación de Centaurus de magnitú aparente +2,58. Anque ensin nome propiu habitual, dacuando ye conocida pol so nome chinu Ma Wei o'l so nome aborixe australianu Iritjinga. Alcuéntrase a 395 años lluz de distancia del Sistema Solar.

Delta Centauri ye una subxigante blancu-azulada de tipu espectral B2IVne. La «y» nel so tipu espectral indica que ye una estrella Be —como γ Cassiopeiae o η Centauri— con emisiones variables d'hidróxenu nel so espectru venceyaes cola presencia d'un discu circumestelar alredor de la estrella. Esti discu ta rellacionáu cola rápida velocidá de rotación de la estrella, de más de 263 km/s; el discu, práuticamente de perfil dende la nuesa perspeutiva, ye tan gruesu que Delta Centauri ye considerada una «estrella con envoltura».

Delta Centauri, catalogada como variable Gamma Cassiopeiae, amuesa una variación nel so rellumu en redol al 15%. La rápida rotación fai que la so forma nun seya esférica, sinón que ta esnachada nos sos polos, fenómenu reparáu n'estrelles como Regulus (α Leonis). Amás da llugar a un escurecimientu gravitatoriu, esto ye, los sos polos son más calientes y brillantes que'l so ecuador, polo que magar la temperatura aparente ye de 22.400 K, una midida más realista pue ser 1000 K más alta. La so lluminosidá ye 12.000 vegaes mayor que la solar. Con una masa de 8,6 mases solares, la so edá envalórase en 16 millones d'años.

Estudios d'interferometría indiquen que Delta Centauri tien una compañera estelar asitiada a 68,7 milisegundos d'arcu. De tipu espectral entendíu ente B4 V y A0 III, tien una masa ente 4 y 7 mases solares. El semiexe mayor del so órbita ye de 6,9 UA.
