Galliformes ye un cladu d'aves neognatas con categoría taxonómica d'orde (comúnmente conocíes como gallinácees) que cunta con 283 especies.[1]El grupu foi bautizáu pol nome llatín del gallu «Gallus», y por ello'l nome d'esti orde significa «los que tienen forma de gallu». Inclúi les pites, perdices, pavos, pintaes y chachalacas, ente otros. Son principalmente aves terrestres, de picos y pates fuertes. Suelen ser malos voladores, llindándose'l so vuelu a planeos curtios y d'escasa elevación. Habiten na mayor parte de los continentes, sacante les rexones más grebes y los xelos perpetuos.
