Les pites de Guinea (Numididae), son un cladu d'aves Galliformes.[1] Son aves africanes que s'alimenten d'inseutos y granes, presenten una cabeza ensin plumes y un plumaxe gris afatáu con lentejuelas. Son monógamos, empareyar pa tola vida y añeren na tierra. Delles clasificaciones considerar una subfamilia de la familia Phasianidae.

La pita de Guinea común (Numida meleagris) foi adomada y introducióse fora de la so distribución xeográfica natural, por casu nel sur de Francia y el Sureste Asiáticu.[2]
