Hunspell ye un correutor ortográficu y un analizador morfolóxicu diseñáu pa llingües con una morfoloxía rica, complexa formación de pallabres compuestes, o con una codificación de caráuteres distinta del ASCII de 8 bits, diseñáu nun principiu pal idioma húngaru.
Hunspell ta basáu en MySpell y ye compatible con versiones anteriores de diccionarios de MySpell. Mientres MySpell usa la codificación de caráuteres ASCII de 8 bits, Hunspell pue usar diccionarios con codificación UTF-8.
Hunspell ye'l correutor ortográficu de:
- OpenOffice.org, la suite ofimática multiplataforma (a partir de la versión 2.0.2 espublizada'l 8 de marzu de 2006).
- Thunderbird, a partir de la versión 3.
- Firefox, a partir de la versión 3.
- SeaMonkey, a partir de la versión 2.
- WinShell, un IDE pa Tex/LaTeX baxo Microsoft Windows.
- Yudit, un editor de testu Unicode pal sistema de ventanes X Window System.
- Opera, na versión 10.0 pa Windows.
- Google Chrome, un restolador de códigu abiertu desenvueltu por Google.
Amás, Hunspell ta soportáu por Enchant.
