IM Velorum (IM Vel / HD 83368 / HR 3831)[8] ye una estrella variable na constelación de Vela, la vela del Argo Navis. De magnitú aparente media +6,23, alcuéntrase a 235 años lluz de distancia del Sistema Solar.

IM Velorum ye una estrella blanca de la secuencia principal de tipu espectral Ap,[8] onde la «p» indica que ye una estrella peculiar, nel sentíu de que'l so conteníu superficial en metales ye anómala. Tien una temperatura efectivo de 7535 K y una lluminosidá 13 vegaes mayor que la lluminosidá solar. Con una masa de 1,76 mases solares, la so edá envalórase en 1050 millones d'años.[9]

IM Velorum ye una variable Alfa2 Canum Venaticorum que'l so rellumu bazcuya 0,04 magnitúes a lo llargo d'un periodu de 2,85 díes.[10] Ye una variable Alfa2 Canum Venaticorum d'oscilaciones rápides; nestes estrelles les variaciones debíes a pulsaciones non radiales se superponen a les producíes pola rotación de la estrella. IM Velorum amuesa pulsaciones cada 11,67 minutos.[11]

Catalogada como estrella binaria, la compañera estelar de IM Velorum tien magnitú 9.[11]
